Mounting pressure to get to the bottom of the controversial arrest of black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. is centering on recorded police tapes that may offer a dose of reality amid all the media and political noise.
Cambridge police brass and lawyers are weighing making the tapes public, which could include the 911 call reporting a break-in at Gates’ home and radio transmissions by the cop who busted him July 16 for disorderly conduct.

Up in Smokes Thought for the Week
It occurred to me with all the talk about legalizing Marijuana, that a lot of Obama's 8 million winning votes where probably from a part of society that just wanted to be able to smoke pot and that's what was most important to them.
Now I am not saying one way or the other but, it amuses me at how this subject keeps coming up in the press and TV shows; as a carrot to keep these people believing that this is a possibility.
I know that there their is no hope of Marijuana being legalized, but then, I am fifty two years old. I find it comical that the naive of this country continue to hold out hope for this change.
It's funny how some of the least important things have caused these people to sacrifice every other freedom that they have under the boot of Obama. Even if they did legalize it, no one could afford it, like cigarettes, I really doubt that the Government would go so far as to let you grow your own, not that these folks would be ambitious enough to till the soil in order to farm it....... that would require work and planning and forethought, something I don't believe they are capable of, or they wouldn't be considering numbing themselves to the point that they can't realize their own existence.

Black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. says he will accept President Obama's invitation to visit him at the White House along with the white police officer who arrested the Harvard professor.
Gates told the Boston Globe in an e-mail late Friday that he spoke to Obama and said he would meet with Cambridge Police Sgt. James Crowley. Gates said he hoped his arrest by Crowley leads to greater sensitivity on racial profiling and that it was time to "move on."
Obama extended the invitation Friday in phone calls to the two men as he sought to calm a national debate over racial profiling. He invited both to share a beer.

Big Nanny Democrats want to ration health care for everyone in America – except those who break our immigration laws. Last week, the House Ways and Means Committee defeated an amendment that would have prevented illegal aliens from using the so-called “public health insurance option.” Every Democrat on the panel voted against the measure.
Nevada GOP Rep. Dean Heller’s measure would have enforced income, eligibility, and immigration verification screening on all Obamacare patients. Unlike most everything else stuffed into the House Democrats’ plan, the citizenship vetting process would not have required building a new bureaucracy. Rep. Heller proposed using existing state and federal databases created years ago to root out entitlement fraud.
If the congressional majority were truly committed to President Obama’s quest to wring cost savings from the system, why won’t they adopt the same anti-fraud checks imposed on other government health and welfare beneficiaries? Maybe an intrepid reporter can ask the president at his next Obamacare show to explain.
The Democratic leadership denies that an estimated 12-20 million illegal immigrants will receive taxpayer-subsidized health insurance coverage. Senate Finance Committee Chair Sen. Max Baucus (D-Montana) calls the proposition “too politically explosive.”

The free, online encyclopedia this afternoon displayed at least two countries the commander in chief may have been born in – the United States and Kenya.
WND documented how the entry for the "Early life and career of Barack Obama" changed numerous times.
At 4:45 p.m. Eastern, Wikipedia said:

In an interview broadcast nationally in the Philippines, Mariano Quindoy, once an estate manager at Jackson's Neverland Ranch, said the entertainer often lured children into his room to engage them in "gay sex," the Philippines Inquirer newspaper reported.
Quindoy, a native of Davao, Philippines, said most of the children were boys aged 7 to 12 years old and some even were "infants."
"Whatever a gay man does to his partner during sex, Michael does to a child," said Quindoy, who said he was willing to testify in the case brought by 13-year-old cancer victim Gavin Arvizo.
Jackson turned himself in to Santa Barbara County law-enforcement authorities Nov. 20 following an extensive police search of his Neverland ranch. The arrest warrant detailed a violation of the California Penal Code prohibiting lewd or lascivious acts with a child under age 14.
Quindoy was lined up by prosecutors in the 1993 molestation case against Jackson, which was settled for $25 million to $40 million with the 12 year-old accuser.
The former employee, who worked for Jackson from 1987 to 1992, said he was not surprised by the current case.
"Normally, having worked for him for a time, I should have been shocked," he said, according to the Manila paper. "But when I heard the news on TV, I told my wife, Michael is doing it again. I expected that this will happen again because this person is incorrigible."
Qindoy continued: "He will do it again and again. If this case ends and he would not land in jail, he will do it again."
He said he had extensive access to the ranch and was an "eye witness" to Jackson's acts, the paper said. He regards the arrest as "vindication" for all the past accusations and revelations that have been ignored.
Quindoy quit in 1992 after Jackson failed to pay him overtime wages.
The pop icon "would be one of the nicest persons you will ever meet" but has an "illness," he said.
