On May 3, the Knox County Health Department identified the county’s first probable case of the Flu virus commonly referred to as the Swine Flu. A student at West Valley Middle School tested positive for a flu variant that is most probably the H1N1 strain. Out of an abundance of caution and based on the recommendation of the Knox County Health Department, West Valley Middle School will be closed beginning Monday, May 4th, through and including Friday May 8th.
